The Director of Technology Operations, Graduate Programs will work closely with the Technology and National Operations teams to drive the efforts of Kaplan Test Prep to develop high quality, engaging, and diverse digital test preparation products. The individual selected for this role will have experience managing technology projects in the education, publishing, or media industries. Having direct experience working in technology production, development and QA environments, he or she will take initiative and project ownership as Kaplan combines its experience and expertise with its rich store of performance data to build products that leapfrog those of the competition in effectiveness, efficiency, and quality.
Job Responsibilities
Drive the creation of best-in-class technology operations processes and standards and monitor them for continuous improvement opportunities
Serve as the point person for and representative of the technology operations function in the Graduate group in dealings with the technology development and production teams
Direct a team of three full-time employees in the creation and management of technology project plans
Work closely with Graduate business teams to achieve their technology goals by analyzing business cases, providing context and feedback from the technology perspective during the product definition and requirements phase, and reviewing detailed functional requirements
Create and oversee detailed project plans to manage the product teams’ responsibilities and deliverables as the interact with the technology production and development teams over the project timeline
Ensure that technology projects are launched on-time and at the highest standard of quality while staying on-budget
Coordinate in- and out-of-house resources and ensure that thorough product QA and UAT are performed
Ensure that any technology problems are tracked and resolved
Serve as a stakeholder in the development of a new paradigm for delivering digital content in the most effective and engaging way possible
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to thrive under the pressure of deadlines
High level of comfort working collaboratively on team-oriented, complex projects
Expert knowledge of MS Office suite
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree
8 or more years of experience in technology project management in positions of increasing responsibility
Demonstrated success in writing functional and technical requirements
Experience with both end-user and enabling technology projects
