Overview Based in Swindon with responsibility for all engineering operations within the contract for a prestigious clients 6 buildings in the town totalling 400,000 sq ft. Commencing on 1st January 2005 for a three year rolling fixed price contract. As the second point of contact for the client, the jobholder will require technical ability and excellent customer care as well as the ability to support and shape the team. Main Duties and Responsibilities To deputise for the Engineering Manager. Deliver service to agreed service level agreements and key performance indicators. Organise and control of PPM, reactive and fabric maintenance and site team· To be a customer focal point of engineering matters to establish work content, programme and key client requirements.· Provide the team with prioritisation of helpdesk tasks, planned maintenance and project works.· Have responsibility for all M&E related SHE and Quality matters ensuring compliance with KPIs and site procedures employing safe systems at work.· Provide best practice technical advice and direction to client and site team.· Have responsibility to ensure all necessary resources are available through direct staff and specialist contractors.· Manage supplier * sub-contract performance to required standard and availability.· Ensure additional works opportunities are properly assessed, pursued and completed.· Development of renewal requirements based on PPM, conditions and business continuity.· Provide technical support and an Authorised Person to control planned or emergency breakdown shutdowns and fault finding.· To attend monthly site meetings and give toolbox talks as required.· To provide reports in relation to work and equipment as required.· Project management· To proactively work towards the growth of this contract. Skills and Experience Strong Mechanical and Electrical background. 3 - 5 years experience in technical engineering operations role. Client relationship management. Effective Sub-contractor*supplier management. Able to converse confidently with staff, customers and suppliers at all levels. Commercial awareness. Personal Qualities Strong people management capability. Live locally to achieve the 30-minute emergency response times.
