DBA with strong development skills - Contract - Working from home and on customer site`s - £negotiable dependent on experience.
our client is looking for a DBA with very strong development skills. You MUST have the following experience: SQL server 7, 2000 Administration (backup*recovery*installation*maintenance*High availability) (min 4 years) . T-SQL Scripting . Trigger and stored preocedure creation . Go o d understanding of Indexes.Thorough knowledge of DBCC commands. Set theory knowledge (normalisation, good database design). At least one programming language from Visual basic, C++, VBA(access), C#, Java (min 2 years) . Experience on large multi-user systems . Strong customer facing skills . Good analysis skills . Ability to identify customer needs and identify possible solutions . Ability to think on your feet and adapt to changing solutions .
In addition to the above skills our client would be especially interested in cadidates with : Additional programming language skills. Web development skills (ASP*PHP) .Net Skills . PS Enterprise*Northgate Rebus Experience
Micorosft Certification (MCDBA,MCSD, MCP) of particular interest are 70-229 ad 70-228 (sql server qualifications- admin and design of sql server 2000 databases) .
The suitable candidate would be able to work from home depending on particular assignments, although you will be expected also to be on our clients customer sites on various locations possible 2-4 days per week. It is also possible that you could be asked to come to our clients offices in Nottingham to cover their support requirements if and when required.
