Job Title: Project Office Administrator Permanent Salary: NEG Based: East London Length: perm
A Graduate Trainee or Assistant Project Manager is required to work closely with the Programme Manager and a small team based at our client site in East London. The team are managing a £multi-million project on behalf of one of our large public sector clients.
Main activities Monitoring all aspects of the project to ensure that the Programme is completed to Schedule, within Budget and meets the expectations of the Users. Ensuring that the requirements have been clearly defined and agreed and is understood by the Project Team. Ensuring that responsibilities are clearly understood by all parties. Ensuring that good practice, correct procedures and processes are being applied. Coordinating the activities of the project with the team leaders. Ensuring that plans exist for all activities. Monitoring performance against the plans and instigating corrective action and actions to accelerate the plans. Managing all aspects of the programme from requirements through design, development, implementation to release to the customer. Ensuring that the programme is adequately resourced in terms of numbers, experience and skill level. Ensuring that the project staff are motivated to meet both the programme’s needs as well as their own. Establishing and maintaining the Project Management Plan. Establishing a programme wide Risk Register detailing identified risks and associated action plans. Establishing and maintaining a project wide schedule of work. Ensuring that the project is reviewed at regular intervals. Preparing relevant management reports for Director review. Ensuring that the appropriate processes and metrics are in place to monitor the progress of the programme such that problems are identified at the earliest possible point.
PERSON SPECIFICATION A degree, ideally in a relevant discipline, together with the desire to progress with further qualifications. A minimum of 1 years experience in a business related environment, either on a placement from university or after university. Some knowledge and a basic understanding of how a project office operates (training will be given). Intermediate level IT skills in all MS Office products, specifically MS Project, Outlook, Word and Excel. Some knowledge and*or a basic understanding of P3 and*or P3e, as well as Artemis and Suretrak (training will be given where necessary).
